Dunhuang Music and Dance Manuscripts
The Buddhist Cave Shrines of Dunhuang have preserved some of the most important records of Tang-dynasty music and dance. Dance notions (S.5643, P.3501) and pipa tablatures (P.3808) were found among other manuscripts in Cave 17 in the early 20th century. CAMLab’s research report of these manuscripts will be published soon.
